ANGER
Anger is probably the single most destructive emotion. By it, fundamental institutions like marriages are broken, wars between nations are started, fought and lost. Lawrence Douglas Wilder aptly said, “Anger doesn’t solve anything. It builds nothing, but it can destroy everything.”
Although we agree that anger doesn’t solve anything, sadly, we often resort to it in trying to solve our problems. But we end up creating more. Without anger we likely could not have had the Russia/Ukraine and USA/Iran wars with their concomitant destruction of infrastructure and lives.
It is not surprising that Jesus likened anger to something as serious as murder; each of them attracting the same punitive measures (Matthew 5:21).
The anger you built against your roommate, parents or anyone else, will just make your life miserable. The anger against your teacher will just make you fail his/her subject. It eats you up when the supposed victim is probably not even aware. Do not build yourself a prison cell of anger. Sober up. Life is meant to be enjoyed.
Have a blessed day.
