WHO ARE YOU WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING?

We spend a lot of time thinking about how other people see us. What we wear, what we post, what we say, who we sit with and, sometimes, how many people like or react to what we share.

But there is another question worth asking: Who are you when nobody is watching?

It is easy to make good choices when someone is checking. It is easy to work hard when a teacher is nearby, to be respectful when a prefect is watching, or to behave well when you know there might be consequences.

Character, however, is built in the moments when there is no audience.

It is choosing to do the right thing when you could easily get away with doing the wrong thing. It is returning something that does not belong to you. It is admitting when you are wrong. It is doing your best even when nobody is going to praise you for it.

The person you are becoming is shaped by these small, unseen choices.

So perhaps the question today is not, “What do people think of me?” but rather, “What do I think of myself when I am alone with my choices?”

Because eventually, the applause fades, the likes disappear and the audience moves on.

What remains is who you chose to become.

May we continue to make choices that we can be proud of, even when nobody is watching.
